Pamela Anderson sent a letter Saturday to Canada’s prime minister requesting an end to the country’s annual seal hunt.
The Canadian actress and spokeswoman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals dropped the letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a mailbox in front of the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans office.
Anderson called the hunt “an embarrassment to Canada” at a news conference, saying she made the appeal during the Winter Olympic Games here because “the whole world is watching Canada.”
Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son, Michael Blosil, committed suicide Friday night. The LAPD confirmed to Access Hollywood that a body fitting the description of her son was indeed was indeed pronounced dead.
Several online reports corraborate that the death occurred when Michael jumped from his downtown LA apartment building.
Marie’s rep issued the following statement.
“My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Living it up in the Sunshine state, Kelly Bensimon was spotted out for lunch with her BFF at Sushi Samba in Miami on Saturday (February 27).
After chowing down on their Japanese cuisine, the “Real Housewives of New York” beauty and her friend chatted it up as they walked down Lincoln Road before being totally freaked out by one of Miami’s very creepy mimes.
According to a paparazzo onlooker, Miss Bensimon “proceeded to walk through a crowd of people as a cute brunette checked Kelly out while she passed by.”
The Miami outing coincides with Kelly’s recently released issue of Playboy magazine.
